Andrew Fein is a Bergen County family photographer specializing in natural, relaxed family photography sessions in Fort Lee and nearby towns. Sessions are designed to be fun, easy, and stress free for parents while capturing genuine moments between families.

Most sessions take place in beautiful local parks like Overpeck Park and other Bergen County locations. Whether celebrating a new baby, updating family portraits, or planning a seasonal session, Andrew creates timeless images families will love.

What should we wear for family photos?

The best outfits are simple, comfortable, and coordinated rather than perfectly matching. Neutral tones, soft colors, and subtle patterns tend to photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your family’s connection. I usually recommend avoiding large logos or very bright colors. After booking, I also send a guide with tips to help families choose outfits that photograph well together.

Where do family photo sessions take place?

Most sessions take place outdoors in beautiful Bergen County parks and natural locations. One of my favorite spots is Overpeck Park because it offers open fields, trees, and great light for photos. I’m also happy to recommend other nearby locations depending on the look you’re hoping for or I can recommend a local studio for a clean indoor look as well!

How far in advance should we book?

I recommend booking your family photo session about 3–4 weeks in advance, especially during busy seasons like spring and fall. Popular weekends can fill up quickly, so booking earlier gives you the best chance of securing a date that works for your family.

When is the best time for family photos?

The best time for family photos is usually about an hour before sunset, often called “golden hour,” when the light is soft and flattering. Spring and fall are especially popular seasons in Bergen County, but sessions can look beautiful year-round depending on the location. Morning is also an option if it works better for your family.

What happens if it rains?

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we simply reschedule. I keep a few backup dates open for situations like this, so families don’t have to worry about losing their session. Overcast weather can actually be great for photos, but if there’s heavy rain we’ll move the session to another day.
